Sorry Something Went Wrong On Amazon Prime Day Fail, more marketing campaigns went bust 2018

Well that was Fast!

Yesterday we posted about the adventures of Build-a-Bear marketing campaign “pay your age” as possibly the great marketing campaign fail of 2018. Before that we reported on the summertime campaign of house of pancakes shifting to burgers. Earning reports will determine how International House of Pancakes logo change campaign is taking over the burger market and how iHOB fairs. But a few of their competitors replied quickly.

But a mere 4 days after the build-a-bear safety concerns debacle, the great Amazon.com deals of the century "Prime Day" is All. Systems. Stop.

Don’t be surprised tho. The media hype around the event was huge! And they were making it sound like "deals of the century."

Wait, . . . What Is Happening? Sorry Something Went Wrong On Amazon Prime Day Fail, more marketing campaigns went bust 2018. From #iHOB #PancakeKing "No Crazier Marketing Campaign" to #HoldMyBear Build-a-bear fails. And now OUCH! Amazon #PrimeDay and the Servers crashed #HoldMyBear is now Amazons Says #HoldMyBeer

#HoldMyBear lasts less then 4 days when Amazon SHOUTS on Prime Day  #HoldMyBeer

So a few hours ago we wrote about Marketing Campaigns that are making noise in 2018, and the iHOB VS build a bear #Hold My Bear buzz. And now we are wondering should we start writing our Top 10 year in review for Marketing Campaign Fails and Flops of 2018 ALREADY?

It always stinks when the Google.com Read More link says: --> More for Amazon Prime Day Fail

It always stinks when the Google.com Read More link says: --> More for Amazon Prime Day Fail, but kudos to amazon because sales still soared

Let's Recount our adventure so far:

1. The First Post. ihoP becomes, . . . err ihoB

International House of Pancakes gets into the Burger Market. Yeah, we said that. What makes a Brand Iconic // IHOP changes their promise for great pancakes into Brand Suicide burgers? We can't make this stuff up.

2. Then the Mega Brands Reply. Including the New Pancake King

Burger King and Wendy's Reply with "Are Pancakes Really That Hard To Make?" What These Mega brands really have to say .

#3. Lets get started: #HoldMyBear

We realized that NO ONE Will Ever (anytime soon) Come Up with a Crazier Marketing Campaign. . . Enter Build-A-Bear:

Hold My Bear is the Build a Bear 'Pay Your Age Campaign' to boost their email club list. The marketing campaign failed due to safety concerns over the exceptionally long lines at build a bear stores. . . then causing the brand to end the deal by 11:00 a.m.

#4. Less. Than. Four. Days. Later.  #PrimeDayFail (with the amazon box with a swipe emoji).

4-days from the June 12th post about safety concerns at build-a-bear "Pay Your Age" campaign H.Q., today it's Amazon #PrimeDayFail and twitter loves it.

Marketers can be heard yelling over their empty morning coffee cups on twitter: HOLD MY BEER!

Milly the #cutedog shared the bad news.

Amazon did too on Social Media here on Amazons twitter page and here on Amazon's Facebook...as least they typed it out this time.  Noting that we still had 34 hours to shop, or stare at Milly.

We will keep you posted on this awkward trend in 2018 when the #IHOP err #IHOB #HamburgerShowdown to #HamburgerMeetsBear  #holdMyBear is now #HoldMyBeer Still #MissionPossible in a #ComedyBecomesCollectionOfErrors
