DEVELOPING A BRANDING LAUNCH PLAN
You just spent valuable time (tears and sweat) building a website to showcase your products or services. Let's tell everyone that your site is live both Internally with employees and vendors, and externally to THE WORLD. Alongside a website redesign or new website launch is The Branding Launch Strategy to help increase brand awareness.
There is a series of steps to take, and one of those is the Media and Press Releases. After your Soft Launch tactics, and After developing a fully optimized Facebook Business Page, and After sending out the Newsletter announcing the New Website, then gaining press exposure helps solidify the legitimacy of your efforts.
Depending on your company size, you may not get traction from the initial press release, but having the added online exposure, and potential for back links, is valuable. And we would never encourage you to write a press release without additional value to draw off of it.

THE PRESS RELEASE FOR A WEBSITE LAUNCH
The write up you provide, in this case as a press release, will allow additional exposure for those who are searching redesigns or new website. It is your chance to share what’s changed on the site, why you redesigned, or the website strategy (why do you have a website?) and add links to specific areas of the site to feature. The links to 'site features' is usually where we see lots of click thru's in the analysis.
Speaking of Analysis . . . months later you will look into your analytics, look for the click thru’s on what people found relevant in your post/s and links. You can re-direct traffic to newer content on the site helping them find exactly what they are looking for.
The press release will also lead to additional content for you to rotate into your editorial calendar. Turn it into a 'mini-blog post' in the notes section of your Facebook Business Page, include excerpts from the press release in your social media posts for at least 1 quarter (not the same 1 post running, you can write approximately 5-10 posts and rotate them) - interlaced with posts that link to the various website pages or sections that you want to feature and promote. For our brand showcasing the work is important, as if the credibility of the company. So yeah, we can have a regular "About Page" but we also had some fun showcasing the business owner and her partnerships in the credit section.
